I'm out of current material, but luckily I have a collection in my "lightroom freezer" which I'm ready to defrost for you.
A few months back, I went with Michal on a wedding job. She invited me to help with lights/see what being a photographer is really like. My personal photo time was limited, I did a lot of waiting, schlepped, and followed orders, but I got some photography experience and a free dinner out of it! Plus, I got to wear an official walkie-talkie complete with an ear-piece! That way, Michal and her male counterpart could whisper orders right into my ear. It all felt very M.I.B..
Here are my favorites from the night:
The location was incredibly unique in the middle of a mountainous desert. It proved the perfect backdrop for the photos.
Here's Michal, doing what she does best. Religious wedding photography is definitely her THING.
Something I really admire about Michal (with regard to her work) is that she knows how to address clients, as well as how to make them laugh and feel comfortable in front of the lens. By the end of the night, the family really warmed up to her.
I felt empathy for the owners of these. Heels+dancing = ouch!
Standing on a ladder allowed me to capture this dynamic image. I think the point of view, the swishing hair, and the cornered clapping hands make the photograph.
Note to self: must have pretty parasol at my own wedding. Somebody (Mom), write this down!
Shall I go ahead and send this one to Verizon for their "more bars in more places" campaign?
That's all for tonight's entry. And in case anyone was worried, rest assured. My camera is working again. The problem was strictly dead batteries.
PS It's Daniel's birthday!
Sincerely Sophie
