First off, the lovely comments are much appreciated. Thanks everyone! And exciting news: I recently posted my first photo album of some pictures from Spain, so grab a granola bar or something and have a look!
Now, I think my wisdom teeth (or lack thereof) are making a comeback, because I'm starting to hurt again. So, instead of staying up super late to whip up a brand spankin' new post, I thought I'd share a poem that I wrote a few months ago for an English assignment. The poem, Lucky Tuesday, is particularly appropriate because it's Tuesday (at least for another 40ish minutes) and I just went this afternoon to visit my horse, the star of the poem, who's name happens to be Tuesday.
Lucky Tuesday
My Horse Tuesday is a bitch.
I think that's why I like her.
She can hold her own.
If only I could tap into her spunk.
School gave up on her,
Because she tended to follow her instincts.
I think most people could learn form her kind of confidence.
They also complained that Tuesday
Was grumpy in lessons.
"Ring sour" to be technical.
But I would be sour too,
If forced to carry a load upon my back
In a dusty white box.
But now she's mine,
And any hints of sourness,
Are out of habit, rather than necessity.
I don't ask too much of her.
We compromise, Tuesday and I.
But the best compliment she can give,
Is when she lifts her hooves for me,
Without complaint.
And here she is!
Sincerely Sophie
